Most of what keeps a participant safe during a cleaning visit is unglamorous: keep the walkways clear while working, leave the floors dry, put everything back exactly where it was, and never assume a product is fine without asking.
Our position on registration, stated plainly
3 Piglets Cleaning is not an NDIS registered provider. That means self-managed and plan-managed participants can choose us freely, and agency-managed (NDIA-managed) participants cannot. If you are unsure how your plan is managed, your plan manager or support coordinator can confirm it in a minute.
Before anyone enters the home
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance held and current
- NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate completed
- National police check
- Briefed on the participant's task list and preferences before the first visit
- Public liability insurance carried by the business
Product safety
Sensitivities to cleaning products are common and easy to accommodate — if somebody asks. The mistake is assuming a standard product range is fine because it usually is.
| Check | Why |
|---|---|
| Fragrance sensitivity | The most common issue, and the easiest to avoid entirely |
| Respiratory considerations | Determines ventilation and whether sprays are used at all |
| Skin contact concerns | Affects residue tolerance on surfaces that get touched |
| Assistance animals present | Product choice and where equipment can be set down |
| Preferred or existing products | Some participants would rather we used theirs |
| Rooms to ventilate | Bathrooms and laundries especially |
During the visit
The hazards a cleaner introduces are the ones most worth managing, because they were not there before we arrived.
| Hazard | How it is handled |
|---|---|
| Wet floors | Mopped toward the exit and dried before we leave the room |
| Vacuum and equipment cords | Kept out of walkways; never left across a doorway |
| Buckets and equipment | Set down against a wall, never in a path |
| Moved furniture | Returned to the exact position before we move on |
| Product vapour | Room ventilated; sprays avoided where they are not needed |
| Doors left open or closed | Left as the participant keeps them |
| Mobility aids | Never relocated; cleaned around, or moved only if asked |
Respecting the participant's own arrangements
Many participants organise their home around their own access needs. Items are placed where they can be reached. Furniture is positioned to leave a specific turning circle. That is not clutter and it is not up to us to improve.
The rule
Ask before moving anything. If it must be moved to clean underneath, it goes back exactly where it was, in the same orientation.
After the visit
- Floors dry and clear
- Everything back where it was found
- Bins emptied and relined
- Doors and gates as the participant keeps them
- Tasks recorded
- Anything noticed passed on to the agreed contact

Frequently asked questions
What if I react badly to a product?
Tell us immediately and we will stop using it. We can work fragrance-free or use products you already have at home.
Will the cleaner move my equipment?
Not without asking. Mobility aids and assistive equipment are cleaned around unless you ask otherwise, and put back exactly as they were.
What happens if something gets broken?
We tell you straight away, and the business carries public liability insurance. Hiding it would be far worse than the breakage.
