What Does an NDIS Home Cleaning Service Generally Include?

What Does an NDIS Home Cleaning Service Generally Include?

A typical NDIS cleaning visit covers the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, living areas and laundry to an agreed list. What separates it from a standard clean is that you decide the list, not the provider.

Our position on registration, stated plainly

3 Piglets Cleaning is not an NDIS registered provider. That means self-managed and plan-managed participants can choose us freely, and agency-managed (NDIA-managed) participants cannot. If you are unsure how your plan is managed, your plan manager or support coordinator can confirm it in a minute.

The parts people forget to ask for

  • Bins taken out to the kerb on collection day
  • Linen changed rather than just the bed made
  • Fragrance-free products throughout
  • A phone call before arriving rather than just knocking
  • Shoes off, or shoes on — whichever you prefer
  • Particular rooms left completely alone
  • A specific order of rooms, so you can stay out of the way

What sits outside a cleaner's scope

Being clear about this protects you as much as us.

  • Personal care of any kind
  • Medication support
  • Health, medical or plan advice
  • Repairs, or anything requiring a licensed trade
  • Decisions about what to throw away
  • Gardening and outdoor maintenance
  • Heavy furniture moving without agreement and help

Setting the list up

1

Walk through the home

With you, or with your support coordinator if you would rather.

2

Write the list down

Every visit, on request, and never — three columns, agreed by you.

3

Fix the day and time

Predictability matters more to most participants than anything else on this page.

4

Review after a month

Almost every list changes slightly once everyone has seen how it works.

We provide NDIS cleaning support across Melbourne's eastern suburbs. If you would like to talk through what would work for you, get in touch.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have only some rooms cleaned?

Yes. Plenty of participants have only the bathroom, kitchen and floors done, and handle the rest themselves.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes, everything comes with us. If you would prefer we use your products or your vacuum, tell us and we will note it.

Can the cleaner help with laundry?

Wiping down the laundry and machine exteriors is standard. Actually washing, drying and folding is a different support — ask and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
